Home Brew Supply offers “special order” buying on a number of “big ticket” items. These are stock items that we do not necessarily carry in the store, and may not even advertise. However, we can order them from one of our many suppliers and deliver them to you – the customer. Some of these items include:

  1. Fruit crushers
  2. Stainless-steel items
  3. Complex brewing systems
  4. Bulk-sized liquid and dry malt extracts
  5. Distilling systems
  6. Koji (for making sake’)
  7. Books not listed in our library

 

While this is not an exhaustive list, you get the idea. In several cases (koji, for example), one of our customers asked us if we could “find something”. Upon doing so, we maintained a list of the possible sources. In the event you wish to special order a bulk-sized or big-ticket item, contact us to see if we have a source. If not, we will do our best to find one and get back to you. If we do have a source, we will quote a price and a “best guess” estimate on shipping costs. In most cases, shipping of big-ticket items will be by truck.

 

All special orders will require from you:

  1. Full name
  2. Shipping and mailing addresses
  3. Phone number, email, and/or other means of immediate contact
  4. A valid credit card

 

At the time of the order, your credit card will be charged for 50% of the retail cost of the item. This charge is generally non-refundable (see below), as any Special Order item is generally not returnable to our suppliers. At the time of delivery, your account will be charged the remaining 50% plus the actual cost of shipping (plus any applicable sales taxes.) If, after placing a Special Order, you determine that you do not want the item, Home Brew Supply will keep the initial 50% deposit. If we later determine that the item is returnable to our suppliers, or if we are able to sell the item to another customer, we will return the deposit – less a 5% restocking fee. Any item that is not returnable to our suppliers or is not immediately purchased by another customer will be offered on EBay. If the item sells for more than what Home Brew Supply had to pay to obtain and dispose of the item, you will be refunded the difference.
